Counselworthy ranks personal injury law firms on 7 public measures, city by city. We are not a law firm, we don't refer cases, and no firm can pay to change its rank. Our editor checks every source, and every legal fact links to the law it comes from.
Why we built it
After an accident, most people pick a lawyer from a billboard, an ad or a search result they can't judge. Many lawyer directories don't help much. They sell placement, or rank on surveys no one can check.
So Counselworthy uses only facts with a public source: state certification, license and discipline records, court filings and each firm's own website. Every fact shows where it came from and when we checked it.
Who runs Counselworthy
How we stay independent
- No firm can pay to rank or to change its score.
- We don't sell leads, take referral fees or match anyone with a lawyer.
- Nobody at Counselworthy works for, or has money in, a firm we rank.
- Every firm is scored on the same published method, whether or not it ever contacts us.
- We never remove accurate facts because a firm asks.
How we make money
Right now, we don't. Counselworthy has no advertisers.
Next, we plan to sell featured spots: one flat price per city, labeled "Featured" and shown outside every ranking. We'll open them only after a review of New Jersey's lawyer advertising rules.
A featured spot never changes a rank, a score or anything we publish about a firm.
